Downhill Skiing
With 57 trails an average annual snowfall of 218” the Red River Ski Area is a joy for all levels of skiers. Conveniently located within walking distance from town means that no matter where you are in Red River you are never far from the action. Grab those poles and prepare for an unforgettable experience in some of the finest snow the Rocky Mountains have to offer.
Cross Country Skiing
Located just 3 miles east of Red River is the Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski Area. Boasting 33km of trails for skiers along and 15km set aside for snowshoes the area is perfect for those seeking a quiet retreat. Set against a backdrop of the Carson National Forest this gem of an area and should not be passed up by avid cross country skiers. Come meander your way along its groomed, patrolled trails and become engulfed by nature’s serenity.
Snowmobiling
Snowmobile rentals are available for visitors preferring to traverse the mountain off of skis. From the base to the 11,249-foot Greenie Peak, explore miles of carefully groomed trails. Snowmobiling is a treat for any age group. Take one for a spin for a thrilling and unforgettable experience.
